Basketball Game Preview: Orange Lions vs. Midview Middies

Orange hasn't had much luck against Midview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Orange Lions will take on the Midview Middies at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It was a proper cat-fight when Orange faced off against Chagrin Falls on Friday. Orange took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chagrin Falls. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Orange's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alex Mcculloch, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and four steals, and Jhamir Smith, who posted eight points. Jean-Marie Morris-Barrie was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Midview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Avon Lake. While the Middies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Shoremen 17-13 in the first quarter.

Orange's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Midview, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Orange came up short against Midview in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 36-27. Can Orange avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
