Football Recap: Benjamin Comes Up Short

Benjamin came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Jesuit Tigers and fell 37-3. The Buccaneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Even if they lost, Benjamin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Jayden Cosby-Mosley was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Hezekiah Davis was nothing short of spectacular for Jesuit: he rushed for 151 yards and two scores on only 13 carries. Those 151 rushing yards gave Davis a new career-high. Kaleb Smith did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards.

Benjamin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benjamin will head out to square off against Cardinal Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Buccaneers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Jesuit, they will head out on the road to face off against Valdosta at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
