Basketball Recap: Yuma Catholic's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Odyssey Institute wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Yuma Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Amanda Wiley. The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks really took it to the Odyssey Institute Minotaur for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-17 win thanks in part to Wiley, who went 8 of 18 en route to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Yuma Catholic's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Coleman, who posted four points along with five boards and four steals. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Yuma Catholic and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Odyssey Institute, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Yuma Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-5 win against Tonopah Valley on the 17th. As for Odyssey Institute, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-23 loss against Parker on the 17th.
