Preview: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets
Stanton is 8-0 against Kermit since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Stanton Buffaloes will be home for the holidays to greet the Kermit Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Stanton can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Tornillo 43-5 on the road. That 43-5 margin sets a new team best for Stanton this season.
Meanwhile, Kermit waltzed into their match Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 36-30 win over Crane.
Kermit found their leader in underclassman MICHAELA CAZARIN, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that CAZARIN pulled down eight or more rebounds. Aleixa Lara was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Stanton's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Kermit, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Stanton against Kermit in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 45-18 win. With Stanton ahead 25-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
