Softball Recap: South Spencer Rebels vs. Pike Central Chargers
After losing to Pike Central the last time they met, South Spencer decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rebels came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kaylee Schmitt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
