They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-43 walloping at the hands of Gaston Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hickory Grove Christian in their matchups with Gaston Christian: they've now lost nine in a row.
Gaston Christian found their leader in underclassman Cameron Newman, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Rhyne, who scored 14 points.
Hickory Grove Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Gaston Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-12.
