Perris extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 3-19. They came up short against the Rancho Verde Mustangs, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-0 defeat back in April.
Abraham Rodriguez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
As for Rancho Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
On Rancho Verde's side, Julian Dominguez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dominguez has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Hector Rivas and David Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Rivas went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and four runs, while Hernandez got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Gabriel Flores was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Perris does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Verde, they will challenge Canyon Springs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.6, the Cougars 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
