Baseball Game Preview: Mount Anthony Patriots vs. Hoosick Falls Panthers

The Mount Anthony Patriots will head out to square off against the Hoosick Falls Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoosick Falls took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mount Anthony, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Mount Anthony sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over Burr & Burton.

Jacoby Dicranian made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases.

In other batting news, Vance Kobelia and Carson Andrick did most of the damage at the plate: Kobelia scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Andrick scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hoosick Falls scored first but ultimately less than Tamarac in their contest on Monday. They fell 9-4 to the Bengals.

Mount Anthony now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Hoosick Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Mount Anthony took their victory against Hoosick Falls in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
