Basketball Game Preview: Newell-Fonda Mustangs vs. Springville Orioles

The Newell-Fonda Mustangs will square off against the Springville Orioles at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Newell-Fonda is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coon Rapids-Bayard 71-40. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three games in a row.

Meanwhile, Springville had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine last Wednesday. They blew past the Savages 65-44.

Newell-Fonda's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Springville, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Everything came up roses for Newell-Fonda against Springville in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, as the squad secured a 69-39 victory. Will Newell-Fonda repeat their success, or does Springville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
