Baseball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-7 to the Spruce Timberwolves. If the Cowboys were looking for revenge after losing 11-10 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jeremiah Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Daurte, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Spruce, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 1-3 record.

Looking ahead, Carter will square off against South Oak Cliff at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spruce, they will challenge Skyline at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
