Baseball Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Franklin Yellowjackets
The Fairfield Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Franklin Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday, Fairfield didn't have quite enough to beat Antioch and fell 5-4. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fairfield got a good showing from Zach O'Reilly, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits O'Reilly has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Devin Knox was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Fairfield now has a losing record of 1-2.
