4A Region II District 11 recap Oct. 16, 2012
North Dallas moved up to 916 from 1,001 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region II District 11. The Bulldogs were able to make the jump by topping Pinkston 24-9.
Kimball was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in the league. The Knights vanquished Adamson 34-10 earlier in the week.
North Dallas' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jason Medellin threw for 15 yards and Javante Haynes had eight yards receiving. On the ground Allen Moore chipped in 102 yards. Justin Townsend helped North Dallas' passing attack out by catching two balls for seven yards.
North Dallas' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Medellin has thrown for 837 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Jeremiah Gantt has 30 catches for 290 yards. John Jones leads the league in rushing with 532 yards.
The top two teams in 4A Region II District 11 will face off this week when first place South Oak Cliff takes on second place Carter. South Oak Cliff bested Seagoville last week, while Carter topped Molina.
The Bears extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Dragons, 55-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
