            Softball Preview: Marsing Huskies vs. Melba Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            The Marsing Huskies will venture away from home to  face off against the Melba Mustangs  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Marsing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7  runs per game  this season.
On Wednesday, Marsing came up short against New Plymouth  and fell  13-8. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

 Brooklyn Roadenbaugh was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and ten unearned) runs off   nine  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent  for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Lily Thoene was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.  Dany Daugherty also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Meanwhile, Melba lost  15-4 to Parma on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
 Melba's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Marsing, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
 Marsing skirted past Melba  6-5 when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Do  the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
