Game recap: Ithaca High School Football Team takes down Michigan Lutheran Seminary

SAGINAW, Mich. - Ithaca (Mich.) beat Michigan Lutheran Seminary (Saginaw, Mich.) 42-6 thanks to dual threat quarterback Travis Smith, who threw two touchdown passes while running for two more.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Smith in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets led 28-0 at the half.

Ithaca grew its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. IHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Smith to Logan Hessbrook.

The loss snapped Michigan Lutheran Seminary's five-game winning streak.

The Yellowjackets came into the game allowing 6.5 points per game. The six points that the Cardinals ended with were well below their average of 38.2 coming into the game.



A 62-14 Ithaca victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The loss comes after Michigan Lutheran Seminary defeated Merrill 62-18 last week.

In a Tri-Valley - West game next week Michigan Lutheran Seminary (5-2) takes on Breckenridge, and Ithaca (7-0) will go up against St. Louis also in a Tri-Valley - West game.
