Softball Game Preview: Edgerton Crimson Tide vs. Belleville Wildcats

The Edgerton Crimson Tide are taking a road trip to take on the Belleville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgerton is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Edgerton's offense. They came up short against Monona Grove on Saturday, falling 21-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Belleville). They had just enough and edged out Madison La Follette 14-12.

Payton Richter was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Raven, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Belleville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edgerton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Belleville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
