Basketball Recap: Britni Silver Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jacksonville

D.H. Conley's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Jacksonville Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 51-36. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Cardinals back in January, they had to take a 58-51 defeat.

D.H. Conley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Britni Silver, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Silver is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Zaniyah Alston was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

D.H. Conley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

Jacksonville's loss came despite strong showings from Kelize Velez-Galan and Destini Benton. Velez-Galan posted 13 points, while Benton scored seven points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Serayah White, who had five points.

D.H. Conley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Jacksonville, their record now sits at 14-5.

As for Jacksonville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-56 loss against South Central on the 11th.
