Basketball Recap: Millbrook Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wake Forest last Tuesday, Millbrook came back down to earth. The Millbrook Wildcats fell 74-63 to the Heritage Huskies on Friday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 58-56.

Defeat or not, Millbrook got some senior leadership from Joshua Bowen and Ashton King. Bowen went 7 of 16 en route to 24 points, while King went 8 for 20 on his way to 24 points and five assists. The game was Bowen's third in a row with at least ten points. Evan Dean was another key player, putting up six points.

Millbrook's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Heritage, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

The future could be bright for both Millbrook and Heritage: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Millbrook will look to extend Wakefield's four-game losing streak when the meet at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Heritage will try to hand Wake Forest their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
