Another week, another No. 1 for the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Volleyball Rankings.
First, it was No. 1 St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.) being bounced by Dike-New Harford (Dike, Iowa), then St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.) falling to Mother McAuley (Chicago).
As a result, Mercy (Louisville, Ken.) is this week's No. 1. The Jaguars are unbeaten in 12 matches and have outscored their foes, 33-2. Their most recent wins were on Sept. 13 over No. 8 Mother McAuley and No. 10 Assumption (Louisville) on Sept. 13.

St. Ursula (Toledo, Ohio) improved to 12-0 and moved into the No. 2 spot. St. Ursula handed Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati) its first loss of the season on Sept. 12, 3-2.
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) moved up to No. 3 and St. Francis rebounded from its loss to Mother McCauley by sweeping the Crossroads Tournament in Effingham, Ill., and settles in at No. 4.
Punahou (Honolulu) remained unbeaten and rounded out the Top 5.
New to the Top 25 this week are El Camino (Sacramento, Calif.), Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.), Lakewood (Calif.) and Jesuit (Portland, Ore.).
Volleyball enthusiasts will have their eyes on Las Vegas this week as 64 teams from 11 states — including several ranked in the Top 25 — participate in the Durango Classic.
