Basketball Game Preview: Benton Panthers vs. Lakeside Rams

Having just played yesterday, the Benton Panthers will get right back to it and host the Lakeside Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benton is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

On Monday, Benton was able to grind out a solid victory over Sheridan, taking the game 65-55.

Lakeside has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 63-21 loss at the hands of Pulaski Academy on Friday. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Benton pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Lakeside, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Benton came up short against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in January, falling 57-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lakeside's Payton Futch, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. Now that Benton knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
