Canastota took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Skaneateles Lakers, sneaking past 30-27. This was payback for the Red Raiders, who suffered a 35-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jacob Winchell had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 124 yards on only 15 carries.
Skaneateles lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hugh Carroll, who rushed for 70 yards and two scores, and also threw for 208 yards and one touchdown.
