Basketball Recap: Ayden - Grifton Chargers vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils

Ayden - Grifton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the South Lenoir Blue Devils as the Ayden - Grifton Chargers made off with a 58-37 win. The Chargers pushed the score to 51-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Ayden - Grifton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliyah Williams out in front who posted 14 points. August Overby was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Loss or not, South Lenoir got some senior leadership from Gracie Tyndall and Tyazhia Midgett. Tyndall put up 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Midgett had three points in addition to 16 boards and six assists. Those 16 boards gave Midgett a new career-high.
