Basketball Recap: Tamerah Peterson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Roeper

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Parkway Christian had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 55-32 margin over the Roeper Roughriders. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Parkway Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tamerah Peterson out in front who posted 19 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds. Peterson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 43 times she's played. Angelina Marchesi was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 16 boards.

Parkway Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Parkway Christian back to even at 12-12. As for Roeper, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-16 record.

Looking ahead, Parkway Christian will challenge Inter-City Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Roeper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
