West Shamokin dropped their record down to 13-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the River Valley Panthers by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cameron Vandervort was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

As for River Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

On River Valley's side, the team relied heavily on Lilian Buckles, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Scarlett Fridley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

While West Shamokin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
