The Shadyside Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Buckeye Local Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shadyside is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Monday, Shadyside made easy work of Bellaire and carried off a 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted against the Big Reds since September 7, 2021.
Shadyside never let Bellaire on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-23.
Shadyside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ali Weatherson out in front who had 12 digs, four kills, and 21 assists. Weatherson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Nippert, who had 12 digs and six aces.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Monroe Central, falling 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-4, 25-13, 25-12.
Shadyside's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Buckeye Local, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
Shadyside was able to grind out a solid win over Buckeye Local in their previous matchup back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shadyside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
