Softball Recap: Rochester Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Rochester barely beat Tippecanoe Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Zebras blew past the Vikings 21-3 on Friday. The Zebras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Aubrey Wilson and Darah Strasser did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Strasser went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Wilson a new career-high. Makhia Harding was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Rochester is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rochester wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 15-0 win against LaVille on the 9th. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 14-0 loss against Western on the 12th.
