Basketball Recap: Los Molinos Takes a Loss

Los Molinos lost against Maxwell back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Los Molinos Bulldogs took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maxwell Panthers. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Maxwell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cristian Lara led the charge by putting up 19 points and six steals. Maxwell is undefeated when Lara posts five or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. Levi Velasquez was another key player, posting 12 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Los Molinos' record is now 3-9. As for Maxwell, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Los Molinos will take on CORE Butte at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Molinos is facing CORE Butte at the right time seeing as CORE Butte is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Maxwell, they will square off against Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamilton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
