 Ranburne is leaving town to face Woodland after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Ranburne took  a  43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Zion on Friday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
 Despite the  defeat, Ranburne got top-tier performance from   Curtis Daniel, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Another rusher making a difference was  Brody Morgan, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.
 Meanwhile, Woodland had to hit the road for their first game and  it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a  blow against Randolph County on Saturday, falling  34-6. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings  (they are ranked 324th, while the Tigers are ranked 155th).
 Ranburne took their  victory against Woodland  when the teams last played  back in September of 2023 by a conclusive  28-7. In that  matchup, Ranburne amassed a halftime lead of  21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
