Soccer Game Preview: Jackson Central Merry vs. Covington

The Jackson Central Merry Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Covington Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson Central Merry will be strutting in after a victory while Covington will be coming in after a defeat.

Jackson Central Merry was handed a seven-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Peabody a 1-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Covington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to Munford. That's two games in a row now that Covington have lost by exactly six goals.

Jackson Central Merry's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Jackson Central Merry took their victory against Covington when the teams last played back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
