Softball Recap: Beaver Beavers vs. Minerva Lions

If Beaver was riding high off their 14-0 takedown of Wellsville last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Beaver Beavers fell just short of the Minerva Lions by a score of 5-4 on Monday.

Beaver saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ciara Call, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Call has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Another player making a difference was Lora Reeder, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Even though they lost, Beaver didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minerva only tossed three.

Beaver's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Minerva, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.

Beaver will head out on the road to face off against United at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Minerva does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
