Baseball Game Preview: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans vs. J.F. Webb Warriors

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability hasn't had much luck against J.F. Webb recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Southern School of Energy and Sustainability has four straight victories, J.F. Webb has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Vance County on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.

Ethan Hargrove was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carlos Joseph, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, J.F. Webb came up short against Franklinton on Friday and fell 5-2.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for J.F. Webb, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability came out on top in a nail-biter against J.F. Webb in their previous meeting last Wednesday, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
