Softball Recap: Oakdale Takes a Loss

Oakdale was the 2-1 winner over Manteca when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday.

Jaelyn Lee (UOP) put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lee (UOP) wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Reese Donaldson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Madi Bohannon (Cal Poly) was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Oakdale's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Manteca, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Oakdale will welcome Patterson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteca, they have already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Tokay on the 3rd.
