Basketball Recap: Butler Piles Up the Points Against Independence

Butler hadn't done well against Independence recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Butler Bulldogs blew past the Independence Patriots, posting an 81-11 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Hannah Moss was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and ten steals. Those 27 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Saunders, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine assists.

Butler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only pulled down two offensive boards.

Butler has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. As for Independence, they dropped their record down to 1-23 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home.

As of now, neither Butler nor Independence have any future games scheduled.
