Football Recap: Kevin Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forrest City over Wynne

Forrest City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wynne, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 29-26 on Friday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Young, who rushed for 106 yards and two scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 80 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Another rusher making a difference was Roderick Tiswell, who rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only 13 carries.

Forrest City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wynne, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forrest City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Wynne, they will venture away from home to challenge Lonoke at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
