Baseball Recap: Cloudland Comes Up Short

Cloudland had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Johnson County Longhorns, falling 15-0. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their loss to the Longhorns from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

As for Johnson County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-12. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Johnson County's part, Nate Dorman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dorman was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Kaden Blevins was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Johnson County is 2-1 when Blevins posts three or more hits, but 7-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Avery Jones, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Johnson County beat Cloudland by a score of 15-0 later that day.
