Recap: Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks vs. Oswego Indians
After flying high against the Chetopa Hornets last Friday, the Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks came back down to earth. Jayhawk Linn fell just short of Oswego by a score of 34-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jayhawk Linn has scored all season.
Jayhawk Linn's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryton Spencer, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spencer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Cochran, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Oswego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayden Myers led the charge by scoring nine points along with two steals. Owen Jackson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Jayhawk Linn has fallen quite a ways from their 15-6 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Oswego, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Jayhawk Linn will square off against Fredonia at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Oswego on the road again on Tuesday and play against Prairie View at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Prairie View is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
