Softball Game Preview: Monroe Trojans vs. Riverview Pirates

The Monroe Trojans will challenge the Riverview Pirates at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monroe's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Summerfield.

Meanwhile, Riverview put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Tecumseh by a score of 8-3.

Keira Logan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia Salinas, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Logan wasn't the only one making solid contact: Riverview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tecumseh only managed seven hits.

Riverview's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Monroe, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
