Volleyball Recap: West Laurens Comes Up Short

West Laurens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Houston County Bears. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in September of 2020.

West Laurens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Houston County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

West Laurens and Houston County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Raiders will face off against St. Vincent's at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (276 vs. 59). Meanwhile, Houston County (ranked 116th) will meet Union Grove (ranked 16th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
