Softball Recap: West Covina Wins Going Away Against Sierra Vista

West Covina came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Sierra Vista Dons with a sharp 7-1 victory on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leslie Baustista spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Ruby Pasag was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Danielle Diaz, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

West Covina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got West Covina back to even at 3-3-1. As for Sierra Vista, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Covina will take on Garey at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sierra Vista, they will face off against Covina at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Covina is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
