Recap: Knightdale Knights vs. Wake Forest Cougars
The Knightdale Knights can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 48-43 victory over Wake Forest. That's another feather in the cap for Knightdale, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Knightdale was led to victory by Ayomide Adewumi and Ja?Kiyah Moore. Adewumi dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds, while Moore dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Melody Bryant was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Wake Forest still got an impressive performance from Audra Hillman, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Simpkins, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Wake Forest struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Knightdale racked up 12 assists.
Knightdale's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-9. As for Wake Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
Knightdale will head out on the road to challenge Rolesville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolesville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 379 points over their last six contests. As for Wake Forest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heritage at 6:15 p.m. Heritage is coming into the contest with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Wake Forest will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
