Recap: Centerville Elks vs. Wayne Warriors
The Centerville Elks won the last time they faced the Wayne Warriors, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Centerville walked away with a 54-42 win over Wayne. Given Centerville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Wayne is ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wayne's loss came despite strong showings from Jonilyah Chambers and Imani Frazier. Chambers scored 20 points along with nine rebounds, while Frazier scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Chambers scored a full 47.6% of Wayne's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Centerville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Wayne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
