Softball Recap: Lexington Tigers vs. Dyer County Choctaws        
        
		
            
 It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lexington can now relate to. They fell  4-1 to the Dyer County Choctaws on Thursday. Lexington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dyer County apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  last Tuesday.
  Kailyn Melton put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Melton has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 12 consecutive pitching appearances. Melton was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 Melton wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  KaLyn Simko, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases. Simko has been hot recently, having posted two or more  stolen bases the last four times she's  played.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Lexington and  nudges their season record down to 35-17-1. As for Dyer County, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 27-19 record  this season.
 As of now, neither Lexington nor Dyer County have any future games scheduled.
