Basketball Recap: Citrus Valley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Aidan Todd and Kayden Gaines

Citrus Valley saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northview Vikings.

Kayden Gaines and Aidan Todd certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Gaines went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points and three steals, while Todd posted ten points and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds gave Todd a new career-high.

Northview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakob Ramos out in front who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Ramos is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Mena, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 12 points and five assists.

Citrus Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Northview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Citrus Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-43 win against Redlands on the 7th. As for Northview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-28 defeat against West Covina on the 7th.
