Baseball Recap: Coastal Mississippi Homeschool Comes Up Short

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool entered their match against Meridian HomeSchool on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Coastal Mississippi Homeschool took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meridian HomeSchool. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the FLYERS earlier this season, when they won 13-0.

Fisher Page made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Clay Martin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Page wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Coastal Mississippi Homeschool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive games.

Coastal Mississippi Homeschool's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Meridian HomeSchool, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
