Softball Recap: Father McGivney Catholic Comes Up Short

Father McGivney Catholic lost against Christ Our Rock Lutheran last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Griffins fell 7-2 to the Silver Stallions.

Father McGivney Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Grenzebach, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Father McGivney Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Father McGivney Catholic will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. The Griffins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they will venture away from home to take on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.25 runs per game on average), something the Silver Stallions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
