Football Recap: Apollo Eagles vs. Bowling Green Purples

Apollo won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the Bowling Green Purples, falling 49-14. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Purples recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Deuce Bailey was his usual excellent self, throwing for 382 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt for Bowling Green. With that strong performance, Bailey is now averaging an impressive 3.5 passing touchdowns per game. Jaxen Smith helped Bailey out on the ground, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bowling Green, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
