Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Comes Up Short

Lafayette was the 3-1 winner over Sayre when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Generals fell 2-0 to the Spartans on Saturday.

Lafayette's offense was headlined by Haylee Henderson and Audrey Gossett, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Elise Trimble and her 18 assists. She and Gossett didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Sayre, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.

Lafayette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Conner on the 18th. Sayre has also already played their next match (against Greenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
