York faced New Trier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Dukes took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trevians. The Dukes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hunter Stepanich paced York's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stepanich got some help from Carson Cruver and his 31 assists.

York's loss dropped their record down to 21-7. As for New Trier, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
