Football Recap: Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs vs. Joaquin Rams
Corrigan-Camden's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 27-26 to the Joaquin Rams. Despite 180 more yards than the Rams, the Bulldogs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Corrigan-Camden's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was William Ratliff, who rushed for 168 yards and one score while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 132 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes. Ratliff's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 164 rushing yards. Derrick Reagie was another key back, rushing for 141 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
A big part of Joaquin's victory came down to the chemistry between Trenton Runnels and his top target Cooper Bragg. Runnels threw for 112 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes while Bragg gained 212 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Bragg racked up 43 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Corrigan-Camden's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Joaquin, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Corrigan-Camden and Joaquin will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bulldogs see the field they'll take on Groveton at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Joaquin, their break will end when they face San Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
