The Pueblo Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Desert View Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Pueblo came up short against Maricopa and fell 13-8.

03/17/25 vs Sahuaro | 1 |

Alex Cuen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Arian Roman was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Desert View hadn't done well against Sunnyside recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Desert View came out on top against Sunnyside by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Cristobal Lorta made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Iram Urias was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Desert View has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. Pueblo has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pueblo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Desert View struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pueblo came out on top in a nail-biter against Desert View in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pueblo since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
