Volleyball Recap: Gaston Christian's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Gaston Christian fell just short of Caldwell Academy by a score of 2-1. Gaston Christian has struggled against Caldwell Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Gaston Christian sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 17-25, 15-8.

Piper Riley paced Gaston Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Riley got some help from Peyton Hunsucker and her ten assists.

Stella Streng was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gaston Christian fell to 2-1. As for Caldwell Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Gaston Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Coastal Christian on the 9th. As for Caldwell Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 win against GRACE Christian on the 9th.
